About South Lake Tahoe Recovery & Rehabilitation

South Lake Tahoe offers more than stunning mountain views and outdoor recreation, it’s home to effective addiction treatment through Elevate Addiction Services. This treatment center has been helping people overcome drug and alcohol problems for over twenty years, providing outpatient care that fits into busy lives. This facility understands that addiction affects everyone differently. Some people need intensive daily support, while others can manage with part-time evening sessions that work around their jobs and families. This location offers intensive outpatient programs, partial hospitalization programs, ongoing aftercare support, and medication-assisted treatment for those who need it.

Here, the treatment team uses proven methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy, alongside mindfulness training that helps people manage stress and emotions. Instead of requiring participation in traditional 12-step programs, clients work with SMART Recovery methods that let them build their own path to sobriety. The South Lake Tahoe center also provides special programs for different groups. Veterans dealing with trauma-related addiction receive targeted support that addresses their unique experiences. Older adults get care designed for their specific needs and health concerns. Pregnant women receive safe, medically supervised treatment that protects both mother and baby.

Some of the amenities available at this rehab facility include an outdoor basketball court, a game room, gourmet dining options, outdoor and indoor lounge areas, a fully-equipped gym, and much more.

Frequently Asked Questions About South Lake Tahoe Recovery & Rehabilitation

Elevate Addiction Services uses a holistic, non-12-step approach. Instead of requiring belief in specific spiritual principles, they use SMART Recovery methods that let clients build their own recovery plan based on their personal values. Their treatment combines proven behavioral therapies with mindfulness training, helping people develop healthy coping skills and a deeper understanding of their own thoughts and feelings.

The South Lake Tahoe facility offers treatment sessions from 6pm to 8pm, five days per week, making it possible for working professionals and parents to get help without disrupting their daily responsibilities. Each session includes group counseling, mindfulness training, and educational therapy, and the typical program runs for about eight weeks with three sessions per week. Virtual telecare options are also available for people who cannot always attend in person.

Elevate provides specialized treatment tracks designed for different populations who face unique challenges in recovery. Veterans receive targeted care that addresses trauma-related substance use and the specific experiences that military personnel face. Seniors get age-appropriate treatment that considers health concerns and life circumstances common to older adults. Pregnant women receive medically supervised care that ensures the safety of both mother and baby throughout the recovery process.

If you are looking for a true recovery community, supportive staff that have done the work themselves, healthy and satisfying food, and the medicine that only mountain air can administer, come here. Healing, helpful, and holistic. This program addresses the roots of addiction rather than addressing surface level symptoms. Expect to work hard but also expect support of the highest caliber.

Amazing location, staff and purpose. This is the place for people who need help with addictions from kind and understanding people. They don't judge, belittle or accuse you, but in fact lift you up and teach you the tools for attaining the strength you need moving forward.

Today 8/1/2025 marks one year of sobriety. One year ago today I entered Elevate in Santa Cruz to start my detox from alcohol. A week later I relocated to the South Lake Tahoe facility. I had been drinking alcohol 45 plus years. I spent 30 days in Tahoe learning why and why I shouldn’t stay on my destructive path. Thank you to all that helped me. “OPP”

I just got out of the full program from Elevate in SLT. Awesome staff and facility. I spent 76 days in the program and quit 25 years of drinking. Never thought it'd be possible. I HIGHLY recommend this facility. This is THE best atmosphere to conquer addiction.
