Rocky Mountain Treatment Center – North Great Falls, Montana

Rocky Mountain Treatment Center is a 26-bed addiction recovery center located in Great Falls, Montana, and it’s been operating since 1983. The program is small by design, as fewer clients means more personal attention, easier access to counselors, and a community feel that makes a marked difference in the recovery process.

The treatment program covers the full spectrum of care, typically starting with medical detox and eventually transitioning to the inpatient, partial hospitalization, or outpatient . The residential program runs 30 days and combines individual and group counseling with 12-step meetings, recreational activities, and optional faith-based programming like Bible study. Equine therapy is another unique treatment option where clients work alongside horses to practice things like boundaries, emotional awareness, and follow-through.

Families are brought into the process through a three-day family week program that includes equine therapy and sessions with counselors, both of which are focused on rebuilding communication and giving loved ones tools for supporting recovery at home. After discharge, graduates stay connected through a weekly Wednesday evening Zoom group, and check-ins at 30, 60, 90, 180, and 365 days, as well as an annual alumni event every September.
